LED architectural luminaires from Claypaky give light to the emblematic Mole Antonelliana de Torino

Claypaky, in collaboration with the company Iren, has completely redesigned the lighting of the Mole Antonelliana, iconic monument of the city of Turin under the design of Alessandro Antonelli.

The iconic Mole Antonelliana from Turin has changed its appearance completely under a color bath provided by a total of 43 devices of the range ODEON de Claypaky: 24 Claypaky Odeon Flood Maxi RGBW of beam 15º, 3 Claypaky Odeon Flood Maxi RGBW of 25º and 16 Claypaky Odeon Flood Medium RGBW 25o.

One of the conditions for this transformation was to relocate the points of the existing installation. The number of devices needed to distribute the lighting on the four sides of the building was calculated using a minimum luminance of two candelabra per square meter. The ODEON Flood of 15º were responsible for complying with these requirements.

To color the Mole, gel color filters have been used to obtain different shades that bathe the dome of the building. With this new lighting system you can assign any color and tone of white directly from a remote control. Furthermore, thanks to the use of LED devices, a saving of up to 50% of energy is foreseen.

With this equipment, the emblematic monument will be illuminated in different colors depending on the time of year and the events that take place in the city.

The ODEON range from Claypaky, distributed in Spain by Stonex, it is perfect to illuminate a multitude of spaces such as historical or artistic monuments, public buildings, bridges and gardens. Thanks to their resistance to extreme temperatures -from -25ºC to 50ºC- they become a perfect option for installations.

Lighting exteriors dramatically

With the innovation of LED technology in new moving heads, it is now more common to see powerful show format bulbs illuminating outdoor / outdoor spaces, whether in an eventual or fixed installation. Thanks to its low energy consumption and the possibilities in color and projection of personalized gobos, they offer multiple technical opportunities and a great value for lighting designers working with buildings and exteriors.

A good bet in this type of work is specified in the range AXCOR of this brand. The possibilities are varied and depend on the space we want to work. The AXCOR Profile 400 y AXCOR Profile 600 They are great options thanks to the quality of their color with linear CMY + CTO system and wheel up to 6 colors. Their high power and low energy consumption make them ideal options for fixed installations in which the devices will remain in operation for long periods.

In addition, the inclusion of blades, with which to limit the projection area, allows to achieve cleaner and riskier designs. Finally, the AXCOR Profile 400 It has a tight size that allows us to place it in a multitude of locations, both exterior and interior.
