Movecat variable speed and Sixty82 Rigging add spectacle to Coca-Cola Music Experience 2023

The thirteenth edition of the Coca-Cola Music Experience returned on September 1 and 2 and, despite the rain, we were able to enjoy more than 20 hours of music with 30 artists from both the national and international scene, such as Ozuna, Quevedo, Ava Max, Yunglud or Estopa among others.

This massive festival took place on September 1 and 2 at the Caja Mágica and Method Agencia was the promoter and responsible for the event that brought together 50.000 attendees during both days. Also I know achieved an impressive connection figure of 700.000 people through streaming through the Coke Studio Spain channel. Stonex was also represented at the festival by Rock & Rigging thanks to its outstanding brands of stage mechanics and rigging, Movecat and Sixty82.

The variable speed was the great ally of the stage design, allowing us to achieve a spectacular and totally immersive show, varying its configuration according to the artist and playing with the movement of the screens that made up the stage. The Rock & Rigging company was in charge of the assembly and control of the Movecat variable speed system which made the show an absolute success.

They were used 38 Movecat variable speed motors to precisely handle the movement of the screens. These screens performed a fundamental double function: on the one hand, they functioned as the main curtain, and on the other, they became a supporting visual element, being used strategically to project images according to the artist on stage or the situation, which contributed significantly significant to the creation of a unique and immersive atmosphere throughout the event.

In addition to their role in the main screens, these motors were also used behind them to move a third rear screen that was surrounded by trusses arranged in a circular shape. This configuration allowed the position of the screen to be changed fluidly, even placing it at diagonal angles, which generated a truly impressive effect when observed from below. This innovative use of Movecat variable speed motors added a spectacular visual element to the festival.

Innovation in sling fastening

Those responsible for securing the engines to the trusses were the innovative Inferno slings from Sixty82. Made entirely from aramid fiber, these slings offer exceptional heat resistance and robustness while maintaining flexibility. Compared to conventional steel slings, these are much easier to use and offer a greater return on investment.

Thanks to the Sixty 82 slings, the Rock & Rigging team has been able to carry out their work more quickly and accurately than with conventional steel slings, due to their flexibility and ease of handling. The new inferno slings represent a step forward in improving the work process and safety of this type of materials.
